Procedures
Wisdom Teeth Removal
Third molars, or wisdom teeth, are the final teeth to emerge, usually in late teens to mid-twenties. While most have four, the number can vary. Reasons for removal include decay, infection, impaction, abscess or orthodontic needs.
Dental Implants
A dental implant is a surgical fixture placed in the jawbone to support a replacement tooth, bridge, or denture, offering a durable solution for missing teeth. Typically crafted from medical-grade titanium, they also stabilise loose dentures effectively.
Orthognathic Surgery
Orthognathic surgery, or corrective jaw surgery, enhances jaw position for improved speaking, eating, and appearance. It also addresses sleep apnea, TMJ disorders, and orthodontic issues. Typical jaw irregularities treated include protrusion, retrusion, size discrepancies, and misalignment, stemming from birth, growth, or trauma
Oral Pathology
Any unusual changes in the mouth, such as lumps, sores, or patches, should prompt investigation for oral cancer. During your dental check-up, your dentist will assess your gums and lips. If concerns arise, referral to an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon may follow for further evaluation, potentially including X-rays, scans, and biopsies for diagnosis and treatment planning.
Sinus Lift and Bone Grafting
A sinus lift, or sinus augmentation, increases upper jaw bone around molars and premolars. Necessary when sinuses encroach on jaw, limiting implant space, often paired with bone grafting to boost bone volume for implant placement
Dentoalveolar Surgery and Dental Extractions
Your dentist, orthodontist or GP may refer you for specialised treatment for various dental issues, including: extraction of compromised root canal-treated teeth, complex extractions, ankylosed teeth removal, impacted or displaced tooth extraction, retained root removal, orthodontic surgery, cyst removal, tori removal, and biopsy for abnormal tissue
